A Little More of a Boar-ing Week

   The adventure took a little bit of a slower pace this week. I spent a majority of my week doing the normal routine I mentioned in last week's post. However, I was a little more adventurous when it came to my walking routes. On Tuesday, my walk included a willed boar habitat meant to help them be re-introduced to the region. To finish out the workweek, my Friday walk included what might be my new favorite bench that looks out onto the entire town of Darvel (the neighboring town I walk to).

The only notable thing this weekend was the Newmilns Gala. It consisted of a parade, the crowning of the gala queen, live music, booths for shopping, and games for the kids. The parade consisted of the Newmilns & Galston Brass Band, quite a few tractors, and floats designed by different groups in the community, which included one that carried what I think was a Scottish country band singing Sweet Home Alabama. I found this quite funny for some reason. Since the gala was primarily designed for families with kids, I didn’t stay long.

I did try going to the church here in Newmilns for the morning & evening services this week. Overall I enjoyed the community and preaching. However, I did get mistaken for Dutch after being surrounded during the service by a group of around 10 people visiting from the Netherlands. I was kindly informed that they were leaving without me by one of the regulars at the church. I am now preparing to depart in the morning to go to Edinburgh for the next three days & prayers are appreciated.
