The Start of The Great Socialization

Another resting week has been completed! A majority of this week was my normal routines that I have started to develop. The main focus of this week was getting to know people a little more & work on my next poetry book. I tried not to do too much so I can continue to recover from my adventures in Edinburgh.

I was invited to three things by people I have met here. The first was the church in Newmilns prayer meeting on Wednesday night. This went very well and was very enjoyable, I plan on adding to the weekly routine. The second was to go shopping with some workers at my local cafe. This occurred Thursday night & despite being quite tired, it went well. We went to a mall outside of Glasgow so I could get some much needed new shoes. I learned I am not the best at pool but had fun playing with them anyway. Finishing out the trip with Japanese food that was very good, especially the chili squids. The third thing I was invited to is a Bible study barbecue this coming Friday along with lunch with a couple from church on Saturday.

I tried to do a couple small things by myself this weekend that I miss doing. Friday’s small thing was going to see Spider-Man Brand New Day. My review of the movie is that it’s worth watching but it’s probably my least favorite of the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies.

   Saturday had a couple little things. The first being visiting a new cafe in Glasgow called Laboratorio Espresso, which might be the best coffee I’ve had here yet! The next was playing disc golf a little north of there. The game turned into me channeling my inner woodpecker due to wind (I hit a lot of trees). Once done I went and got some Italian at Ask Italian, including a fancy limoncello cherry meringue cocktail. This meal might be the best meal I’ve had here but it cost the same as ½ a week's worth of groceries. Since I was in Glasgow I went to the Scottish Design Exchange where I got some really cute letters from local artists. A stop in Waterstones to buy a poetry book was the end of my Saturday adventures.

   Today was spent walking, writing, & at church. It started with a morning walk to Darvel followed by morning service in Newmilns. I then spent the afternoon going on a walk, writing, and watching a little tv. Then I made my way to evening service, where I got trained a little on how to start putting away the tech equipment. I’m planning on finishing out my evening with a little more writing and TV then my normal reading in bed with tea.
